Gavin Kogan is an experienced business attorney, political advocate and entrepreneur dedicated to the curious intersection of cultural (r)evolution and business opportunity. His creative enthusiasm for start-ups and scaling new businesses for growth is well suited to California's emerging cannabis industry.
As one of California's earliest cannabis business attorneys, Gavin has guided hundreds of cannabis business clients through all stages of development, culminating in his establishment of the Cannabis Law Practice Group of L+G, LLP, a premiere agriculture business firm in Salinas, California.
As as an entrepreneur, Gavin has been prolific, co-founding many cannabis enterprises such as Turbo Trimmerz, hand-held power shears for trimming cannabis, Indus Holding Co., which launched Altai Brands, a low-dosage edibles brand and brought Colorado's Dixie Elixirs to the California market in 2015. More recently, Gavin took on our industry's infrastructure by co-founding Grupo Flor, a family of companies engaged in cannabis real estate leasing, equipment finance and business operations throughout the entire cannabis supply chain, from nurseries to dispensaries. The dominant philosophy that excites Gavin about Grupo Flor is the flexibility and strength of distributed networks over centralized control. His present focus within Grupo Flor is the development of Ag Pistil Fund, a uniquely positioned equipment finance and capital investment fund designed to guide new investors into the emerging cannabis market.
The kinds of project that most interest Gavin are those that (i) challenge cultural prejudices, (ii) creatively use new technologies and (iii) represent thought leadership in their given field. At core, he believe the cannabis (r)evolution is a tremendous tool for shaping an American culture into a more tolerant and kind society.
